  In the first quarter, construction work registers only modest sales. As a result, the Company sometimes posts an operating loss.

About management

• I imagine that capital spending in the electronics industry varies widely. What kinds of measures do you take to reduce the variance?

  Results do not vary widely each year in the Performance Products business, which deals with standard equipment, water treatment chemicals and food processing materials, or in the Service Solutions business, which provides maintenance, operation management and remote monitoring services. By increasing the sales weighting of these businesses, the Company strives to reduce the impact of changes in capital spending in the electronics industry.

  On May 1, 1946.
• Where did the company name come from?

  Ion exchange resin, the Company’s key material, is called organic zeolite, or organolite for short, as opposed to natural inorganic zeolite. The company name derives from the name of the resin.
