Advanced Separation, Purification, and Analytical Technologies

Through our separation, purification, and analytical technologies, we contribute to a wide range of fields.

Separation and Purification: Our Core Technologies

Most natural substances are mixtures of multiple components.
Pure substances composed of just a single component, and substances excluding certain components, are extremely valuable in reliably producing industrial products and pharmaceuticals. Organo's core separation and purification technologies are used to separate certain components from mixtures and eliminate unneeded components to increase purity. Some of the methods used for this include filtration and ion exchange.

    Ion Exchange Resin

Ion exchange is a phenomenon that has been occurring in nature since the dawn of Earth's formation, centered on the water-purifying action of sand and soil. Ion exchange resins are synthetic resins in which functional groups (ion exchange groups) have been introduced into a three-dimensional, network-structured polymer matrix.

    Pure/Ultrapure Water Production

Using the "ion exchange" method, based on ion exchange resins, and the "reverse osmosis (RO)" method, based on the reverse osmosis effect, we produce pure water with minimal impurities and ultrapure water that comes as close as possible to pure H₂O.

Analytical Technology to Ensure Separation and Purification Quality

Organo continues to advance its analytical technologies, becoming the first in the world to successfully measure particles as small as 10 nm (one hundred-millionth of a meter) using a proprietary membrane. By combining this newly developed membrane with our filtration technology and continuous automated observation, we are able to analyze 10-nm particles—contributing to improved quality and yield in semiconductor manufacturing.

In the rapidly advancing electronics industry, ultrapure water is essential for the cleaning processes used in manufacturing semiconductors and liquid crystal displays. We also provide a diverse range of water treatment technologies—including equipment cleaning water, boiler feed water, and wastewater treatment—across industries ranging from large-scale plants to industrial parks and small and mid-sized factories. For research and analysis, we offer a comprehensive lineup of pure and ultrapure water systems that help ensure reliable results across a wide range of applications.

Juice, Medicines, and Food Products

We provide water treatment technologies—including water for beverage production, wastewater treatment, and boiler feed water—across a wide range of industries, including beer, soft drinks, dairy, prepared foods, condiments, and confectionery. Since developing our heat-free water distillation system using ion exchange resins in 1946, we have continued to provide water for pharmaceutical applications essential to drug manufacturing processes.

Water treatment facilities also play a vital role at power plants, oil refineries, and gas storage sites. In power plants, steam drives the turbines connected to generators, and high-purity water circulates throughout the plant to ensure stable long-term operation. Wastewater discharged from the system undergoes a complex series of treatments to meet regulatory standards and reduce environmental impact.

Technology for Protecting the Environment

We support efforts to address today's environmental challenges—including energy conservation and CO₂ reduction—from a water treatment perspective. In wastewater treatment in particular, we use advanced treatment technologies, including biological and physicochemical methods, to propose optimal treatment systems based on wastewater volume and quality. Our wastewater recovery and reuse systems have also been highly regarded.
